"Slow Down... You're Dating
Too Fast!" is based on an age old conflict in three parts:
How should men and women
interact?
What is the best way to actually ask
someone out on a date?
And then once you're there, how
should you act?
Over the years there have been
thousands and thousands of ways people have tried to get singles
together. Everything from, "I have a friend you
should really meet" approach to today's latest fad, "Speed Dating."
"Slow Down... You're Dating Too
Fast!" will take a look at speed dating and couples who are just trying
to find love in all of the wrong places.
THE FILM
The idea for the film
came from an story David saw on television regarding, "Speed
Dating." It looked like interesting, fun and a great way to put
lots of people together. Having just come off of the film, "Dog
Me: Potluck," David wanted to work close to the same style of
filmmaking, the Dogme95 principals, so this was a great way to do it.
"I used a number
of the same techniques used in the Dogme95 principals and unlike my
previous films, I did do some improv, which were the seeds of some of
the dialogue but this script was more put together when we started
production."

After a rehearsal process that lasted a couple of weeks, "Slow Down..."
went into production. It was a six day intensive shoot all around
Memphis and parts of Mississippi. As soon a principal photography
was completed, David began the editing process, trying to get the film
ready for the "Indie Memphis Film Festival," where the film would make
it's world premier.
On October 24th, 2005 "Slow Down... You're Dating Too Fast!" screened
to a standing room only audience at the "Indie Memphis Film
Festival"... the audience loved it!
RECEPTION
In addition to screening at
the Indie Memphis Film Festival, "Slow Down..." has continued to screen
across the country from the "2006 Blue Ridge Vision Film Festival" to
the "2008 Washougal International Film Festival." In 2006 at the
"International Barebones Film Festival," the film was nominated for two
awards; Producer/Writer/Director/D.P./Editor M. David Lee III was
nominated for the "2006 Indie Auteur of the Year Award." And the
film itself was nominated for "Best Comedy."
In 2008 Triple Sticks Productions announced the distribution of the
film on DVD. A DVD that includes a behind-the-scenes mini
documentary on the making of the film. You can purchase a copy of
