THE STORY

They walk down the streets barely noticed... looked upon as merely junkies or prostitutes... they've brought it all on themselves.

This is how most react when they see a couple like Randy and Lex.  A not-so-dynamic duo, trying to survive on the mean streets.
Both have done anything to live, survive, to breath just one more day.

3 Days... 3 Hours... 3 Minutes... 3 Seconds, takes a look at piece of the world that no one wants to see.
It’s hard, it’s gritty, it’s reality.  Even though life beats them down on a regular basis, Randy and Lex have dreams of making their lives better, but can they do it?

Can two people who live from trick to trick, escape a predestined life, away from the drugs, the stealing, the sex, and the deception?

Life is very precious and it’s clear once you see their story, that far too many are a paycheck away from living a similar life.

In fact we all could be just,  3 Days… 3 Hours… 3 Minutes… 3 Seconds… away from this modern day hell!

THE FILM

The idea for the film came from a conversation David had with fellow filmmaker Ken Portwood.  The two were talking about how long it took to make a film and wondered what the shortest amount of time it might take and thus begun the debate.  Playing a sort of "Bid-A-Note" game, like "Name That Tune," David and Ken worked their way down with David winning the challenge at 3 days.  But neither really thought much about it, until David began to really think about how to structure a project that might work in 3 days.

So coming up with the premise of a story, David designed a film to be shot in three days.  Before the Mike Figgis' film "Time Code," "3 Days..." was the forerunner in real time filmmaking.  David and his cast developed the script through improvisation and then over a three day period shot the entire feature film.

"It was an amazing experience!  After several weeks of rehearsals, I took what we had worked on and used the basic idea of the plot that I had developed before the start of everything and completed the script.  We rehearsed a couple of weeks more and then just pilled into my tiny two bedroom apartment over a small family store in San Jose, California and shot the whole film!
The days were long, everyone was great and the bottom line, the film and the performances were simply amazing!"

In addition to the gritty black and white feature, shot masterfully by Chip Holley,  there is a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the film to give you an idea of what went on during the chaos of making a film in three days.

RECEPTION
The reception for the film was amazing!  The film hit the festival world by storm screening in San Jose, Memphis, Toronto and San Antonio.  In addition, the film was invited to screen at Stanford University, where David and the crew behind the film spoke to filmmakers about their process.

The reviews were fantastic for the film and currently Triple Sticks Productions is working on a special DVD release of the film that will include the "Making of" as well as some other treats.  Look for the film to be ready for DVD some time in 2009/

"These actors did their homework and were outstanding!"

"Director M. David Lee III has managed to put together a commentary on modern life and the unpredictable twists and turns awaiting all of us down the road.
Shot in just three days, more three's, 3 Days . . . 3 Hours . . . 3 Minutes . . . 3 Seconds...
combines an insightful story with strong, convincing acting, to produce a social commentary without the after school special candy coating."
