"1-900"
is an exciting thriller about a female serial killer and two detectives
hunting her down.
It’s a cross between, "Basic Instinct," and "9 ½ Weeks," with a
little "Pulp Fiction" thrown in for good luck.
THE FILM
"1-900"
is actually the second attempt at making a feature film, the first,
"Black and White: Make Grey," was shot and rough cut, but didn't go any
further than that. That meant this time around David really
wanted to deliver on his promise to his cast and crew to complete the
film and he did.
Working with several local actors and crew from San Jose, "1-900," went
into production in 1995. Shot in and around San Jose, California
the film has a Film Noir feel about it. Craig Peterschmidt was
the director of photography on the film and did an amazing job with the
look and feel of the film. It's bathed in rich colors and dark
shadows to make capture the intensity of the subject.
"We designed
'1-900' to go straight to the video market. We were lucky enough to get an international distributor and then land a domestic video
distributor.
There's no question it
is a pretty good film. In addition to the feature we have a behind the
scenes documentary on the making of the project.
At this point we
don't have plans to release it, but who knows maybe in the future."

RECEPTION
As soon as the film was
finished, Triple Sticks Productions signed a distribution deal for the
film and David completed his goal of getting the film to market.
The initial company that distributed the film, sold it in markets
overseas like Malaysia, Taiwan and Russia. Made for less than
$800 dollars, "1-900" is a success. Currently it's being
distributed by Salt City Home Video and can be picked up as park of a
4 pack of films called, "Serial Killers." You can find the film
through our web site.
