History of the MOOD

The Mood is a Boston based Rock band that has been compared in many reviews and radio as to sounding to that of Pink Floyd. The Mood was founded by Arthur Orfanos and the late Richard Pontes (1962-1996) in the mid 80's

The Mood began performing in 1991 around the Boston area and released their CD "Live From The Boston Tea Party" in 1995. In mentioning Pink Floyd, The Mood received rave reviews as well as an abundance of radio play across the U.S. as well as other parts of the world In 1991 The Mood Reached  #6 in the top 40 on WCGY's "Boston Music Showcase" which was hosted by radio veteran Harvey Wharfield.
(Songs from the CD appear in the Triple Sticks Productions Film)
3 Days, 3 Hours, 3 Minutes, 3 Seconds.....
The reviews pointed out one main thing ,along with the style of music, the similarity to the lead vocals sounding very similar (and at times just like) David Gilmour. This sparked many ideas , suggestions and requests to perform a Tribute to the great Pink Floyd. The project was soon started. After approximately 3 years of researching, and constant auditioning of musicians The concept was in place and soon to become a reality.

In the current incarnation, THE MOOD has been rehearsing diligently for about a year and a half while keeping the word "tribute" to it's full meaning, with new members: Tony Caliendo, Mark Maser and Ray Crandall THE MOOD captures the true sounds of the great Pink Floyd.  With the recent release of the first CD single featuring "Hey You" & "Comfortably Numb", THE MOOD has already reached radio play in parts of the US as well as Indonesia, Denmark, Australia, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, France just to name a few places.

We do not proclaim to be the best Pink Floyd tribute band in the world, you would probably have to find out for yourself.  Don't cheat yourself out of a very entertaining night of a true TRIBUTE.  Also we Must emphasize that we would not consider anyone that has seen us or that will see us in the future "privlidged" to have seen us. We feel that is a sad way to fool the audience and we do not take YOU , the fan for granted or feel that anyone that sees THE MOOD to be "privelidged" that itself is a bad way to reach out to the people. When you do have the opportunity to see THE MOOD our aim is to satisfy and entertain you to the best of our ability.
Accept no substitutions!  Call your favorite club, theatre, concert hall or college and tell them YOU'RE IN THE MOOD for THE MOOD.
